I totally hit the wall yesterday / today. Not sure if anyone else has - maybe a function of a really busy week - but I am exhausted and have no motivation. Skipped my first w/o today.
The weekend before I broke my leg, I ran a PR 1/2. Not lightning fast, but PR for me nonetheless. The other day, the Dr. said that I can maybe get a walking cast in late april or May. I would give pretty much anything to be able to walk right now. I think pretty much every day how it is getting nicer and nicer outside, and without my crutches, I can't even move, unless I lay on the floor and pull myself around. I tried to bring the garbage out the other day, and hit a patch of ice with my crutches and damn near fell on my face. I lay on the floor to get dressed.
I miss swimming. The last day I swam, I swam 2500 and split 1:46 and felt awesome. Now, if I get my leg wet, I need to make an appointment to get a new cast. When I clean myself up, I sit sideways in the bathtub and hang my legs over the side, and balance my leg on a stool. I use a handheld sprayer. I get cold, because I can't pull the curtain closed. When I try to get out, every now and then, I slip and bang my head on the wall.
My bike is sitting in my basement, with the front wheel off, because the last time I used it was at Cronz' house on 1/19. I thought the other day if I could get down there, I would maybe bring a chair down, so I could balance my right leg on the chair, and maybe do 1 leg drills with my left leg, but then remembered that I can't carry a chair down the stairs anymore, let alone the fact that I haven't been in my basement in over 6 weeks.
I think during this thing, everyone will hit the wall. Cronz, you're not alone. It is a long tough road. Don't beat yourself up. You have great work ethic, and you're already at a very high fitness level. If you need a day, take a day. Being rested is better than busting your ass tired.
On those fence days though, when it is tough getting out of bed, or you just don't feel like it, think of the Gilbs and if nothing else, do it for me. Because I would love to... But I can't.
gilbs - thanks for the note - like all truly inspirational words I laughed a little, cried a little and got some goose bumps. Good stuff my friend. Hang in there - your day will come.

ha ha. That's funny.
Do you know the name Dee Dee Gordon?
My kids are watching "Merchants of Cool" right now.
I've never worked with look-look their company but there is a ton of books/ companies/ and to a larger point trend watching people out there.
Want something totally interesting to watch that address human development checkout the 7up series by BBC-
