Fine, go ahead

Ran with my friend Dan yesterday and am now considering the Grandma's full meal deal. My apologies, Gilby, I will take a big ol bite.....

It all depends on what my coach says - and no matter what I will not be winning any awards. T and I were talking last night about going up TH eve, renting a place, big bike ride Sat and the marathon Sun.

Anyone interested? Registration opens (1/2 as well) on 6/17.

A number of things:

1. I have considered Grandmas as well, but am a little unsure right now. After a competitive half the weekend before, it would be tough.

2. Montauk, I don't know. Have thought about Ironman MN, but am unsure about the whole weekend in NY.

3. Not that it would change anything, but Grandmas is Sat.

4. As much as I like races, I want to make sure I limit my race schedule enough, races every weekend wear you down, take a lot of time, so I need to seriously think about race schedule.

In addition, I am doing the half at the end of the month if anyone's interested. Slim I beleive has done the Securian Winter Carnival event before and indicated it is a good one, and only $20.

From my coach:

Initial reaction is it's too much. It takes a long time to recover from both.

I'm a no for Grandma's and Montauk, a maybe for Securian (I've done the 5K but never the half) and a probably for Ironman MN bike tour (thinking the 60 miler but could probably be convinced to do the century).

There's no way that sentence would get by a proofreader but we're going to leave it be.

Think the Cronins are leaning towards Securian (that is frozen 5K/half right) - anyone want to do brunch somewhere after with the families?

last year it was bitterly cold.

I am #14 for the Securian Half. I signed up at Run and Fun last night. If anyone needs new shoes, and you sign up there, you get 25% off anything in the store.

Currently, I am doing it with the Herbst's and we have our fantasy football party that day, but if that changes and it is later in the day, I would be up for the brunch.

I am considering the 1/2 for grandma's, but not the full. If people wanted to go for a big bike ride the day before, we could maybe go up on Thursday, take Friday off and do it then. We could stay at my mom's place if people wanted to do that. Renting a place at this point may be a bit tough to do.

Probably a no go on Montauk.

I am leaning towards Securian as well.
